Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH)
Elevated Blood Pressure
is high blood pressure or what is known as pre-hypertension. High blood pressure left untreated, will progresses into hypertension, a more severe form of high blood pressure. Being overweight or obese is directly related to the cause of high blood pressure.
Total, LDL and HDL Cholesterol
total blood cholesterol should be less than 200 mg/dl. LDL cholesterol, the carrier of "bad" cholesterol less than 129 mg/dl and HDL cholesterol, the "good" one should be above 50 for men and near 60 for women to help lower your heart disease risk.
Triglycerides
triglycerides are fats in the blood. Adults who are overweight or obese, consume high fat diets or diets high in refined and processed carbohydrates often have high triglycerides. Triglycerides increase the risk of the metabolic syndrome, type II diabetes and heart disease.
Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH)
benign prostate hyperplasia is linked to your diet and your weight. Being obese and having pre-diabetes (slightly higher than normal blood glucose) increases your risk of developing BPH with age.
Insulin Resistance, Pre-diabetes and Type II Diabetes
insulin resistance is the common denominator in both pre-diabetes as well as type II diabetes also known as adult on-set diabetes. Being insulin resistant increases your risk of developing other heart disease risk factors.
Insulin Resistant/Metabolic Syndrome
also known as Syndrome X is a cluster of conditions such as obesity, elevated triglycerides, high blood pressure, pre-diabetes or type II diabetes and low levels of the HDL, the "good" cholesterol. If you have three of these criteria, you have the metabolic syndrome.
